What You'll Do

  • Provide advice on Canadian customs legislation and trade programs
  • Work with business development teams to identify and secure new opportunities
  • Analyse and present winning arguments to support tariff classifications rulings, refunds, voluntary disclosures, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering consulting services on customs compliance, tariff classifications, and Free Trade Agreements
  • Conduct customs compliance risk analyses and recommend improvements to mitigate risks
  • Manage duty deferral programs and assist with audits, contingency reviews, and FTA verifications
  • Prepare requests for rulings from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and support internal and external training programs
  • Collaborate with our consulting and management teams to ensure we deliver top-notch service that enhances client satisfaction
  • Lead a team through project management

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in customs and international trade, with deep knowledge of Canadian customs laws and regulations, preferably directly in an advisor/consultant capacity 
  • Strong understanding of tariff classifications, FTA management, and customs compliance audits
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Completion of Grade 12, with post-secondary education in fields like international trade or logistics. CCS certification or Customs Brokers Professional License is preferred
  • A positive attitude, willingness to work in a team, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingualism in French is an asset but not required
