Customs Manager

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Branch Manager (Customs Manager) is responsible for the management, growth and development of the Branch.  They ensure the compliance of employees with company policies, US customs regulations, customer service requirements, and day-to-day clearing of inbound cargo.  In addition, they will oversee, assist, train & maintain responsibility for the preparation of customs entries, payment of duties, and quoting customs fees.

Job Description

  • Organization & Leadership of the branch
  • Responsible for Branch revenue goals
  • Monitor branch performance and take corrective action, as necessary
  • Hiring, Training & Disciplining of Branch Employees
  • Receive and respond to calls from customers
  • Checking and responding to emails
  • Assist in quoting delivery of freight
  • Audit entries
  • Review files for profitability
  • Monitor staff training needs
  • Conduct regular staff meetings
  • Support business development
  • Client visits as required
  • Keep current with changing regulatory requirements and relay information to staff
  • Be available to receive phone calls/emails and provide after-hours assistance to staff and clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

  • Customs Brokerage License (Required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Work Conditions:
